Having run away from home aged 16, GOTH worked his way around Australia, including working on fishing trawlers and abelone diving boats in Eden NSW, as well as working construction in the hot dry Centre of Australia in Alice Springs NT.

GOTH's self-employed income was a combination of
Sydney. Australia. In the early 1980s GOTH created a unique and original performance character:
This was a street performance, based on the historical lifestyle of a travelling swagman.
GOTH performed 'dramatic recitations' of the poems and short stories of Banjo Patterson and Henry Lawson.
Within 3 months, GOTH was plucked from the streets and onto live national television and the concert hall of the Sydney Opera House.
GOTH was also performing 5 nights a week plus a matinee on Sundays in Bobby Limb's AUSSIE NIGHT dinner show.
The popularity of GOTH's show allowed him to create his independent expandible show: from performing solo, up to several performers on stage with GOTH as the host and compere.
GOTH appeared many times on all of Australia's national TV channels.
Newspaper and magazines have run many stories and articles about GOTH.
QANTAS and BRITISH AIRLINES commissioned GOTH to write a poem and perform. [see below].
GOTH also began his photo business during the 1980s.
Wanting to try competing in a bigger market, in 1993 Goth moved to San Francisco, in the United States of America.
